Garena announced it's Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, which is a six-month professional gaming league that includes more than 100 matches online. In the first season, GPL includes comprised of a League of Legends competition which includes six professional teams. Teams are composed of top players from their respective nations. GPL matches are captured on television and broadcast along with commentaries, which are made available to the public to see through the GPL official website. In January 2013 Garena revealed the second season of the Garena Premier League, which was scheduled to begin on the 4th of January 2013. Garena Premier League, 2013 includes two teams from Taiwan and Vietnam. The total of eight teams is now raised to nine. Teams include: AHQ (Asia), Saigon Fantastic Five (Saigon Jokers), Bangkok Titans (Bangkok), Kuala Lumpur Hunters(Kuala Lumpur) and Manila Eagles(Manila) and Taipei Assassins. Singapore Sentinels. Garena's eSports stadium is a stadium exclusively dedicated to esports at the Neihu District Taipei, opened its doors on the 14th of November 14, 2014. The facility was constructed in order to host the League of Legends Masters Series The top-level Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau LoL league which was a spin-off of the GPL. Garena began in the Iron Solari League in January 2015. The Iron Solari League is an League of Legends women's tournament that is held at the Philippines. The event is held monthly and that is held during the second quarter of each month. It aims to encourage participation from groups that are underrepresented and is open for all those who self-identify as female. Garena not only organizes tournaments but also offline gatherings and other events that permit users to meet.
