Liza Snyder

Snyder was born at Northampton which is located in Massachusetts. Her mother, a songwriter/singer, is her father. He is also an instructor of theatre in Smith College. Her maternal grandparents were five times Academy Award-winning composer Johnny Green, and the actress and consumer journalist Betty Furness. Snyder trained in acting in The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, New York City. She was coached by Sanford Meisner. Snyder started her acting career by appearing in television dramas like The Trials of Rosie O'Neill and Murder, She Wrote. In 1993, she landed the leading role of Molly Whelan in the ABC and then syndicated crime drama Sirens. The show ended up being cancelled, she co-starred in two made-for-television movies as well as guest-starring on Chicago Hope, and Pacific Blue. On the NBC sitcom Jesse, starring Christina Applegate, she was in the cast from 1998 until the year 2000. In the sitcom Pay It Forward directed by Mimi Leder, she played a minor role. Following that, Snyder began starring as Christine Hughes on the CBS sitcom Yes, Dear. The show ended in 2006. Snyder went on a five-year hiatus after Yes, Dear. Her return to TV came in 2011, with a guest-starring role on an episode of House as an uninvolved patient in need of to donate her lung.
